« Knowing how to utilize today’s heritage for tomorrow » is the reflection that came to mind after having read the Arcachon Aquarium-Museum’s petition and studied the reasons behind it’s appeal for support.
At the 16th annual meeting of the European Association of Archeologists (EAA), ArkéoTopia realised that, throughout the world, the professionalisation of archeology has led to a split between amateur archeologists, be they erudite locals, members of associations, or from learned societies, and professional archeologists.
Science and technology are today clearly part of our everyday lives. That is why during the last forty years we have seen the development of the practice of transferring scientific culture from those who produce it, researchers, to those who benefit from it, the general public. So, a new actor appeared who J.-O. Gransard-Desmond present from a new angle with "Bridging the gap between the scientific community and society".
The parable of the Tulleries, or how to spread doubt with good intentions.
In the context of our Irish theme for the year 2009, the Centre Culturel Irlandais (Irish Cultural Centre – CCI) was a must to discover the history of the Irish and their community in France and Paris. So, on Wednesday 11th March, ArkéoTopia® brought together its members and a few curious souls for an ArkéOdyssée on-site followed by a discussion at the Saint-Hilaire pub.

Through his contribution to the roundtable Studying Archaeology in Europe during the EAA meeting on September 17th, 2011 in Oslo, ArkéoTopia® does a calling to this european programme.
At the 16th meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA), ArkéoTopia was able to measure how much French archaeology students really behind compared to their European counterparts, particularly as regards student associations such as there are in Germany and Poland for example. With the objective of helping students to take charge of their career, ArkéoTopia offers its expertise to students to aid their career orientation, access to the world of work and to the national organization of student associations following the model of the European associations encountered.
During the 17th meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA) on September 15th, 2011 in Oslo, Dr. Jean-Olivier Gransard-Desmond, archaeologist, and Nathalie Maximin, a lawyer specialised in commercial law and contract law, presented "Ethics and archeology, between regulation and moral duty", the first results of one of the main work in the association project of ArkéoTopia®, an alternative way to archeology.
